The health and well-being of your legs at the heart of our concerns

Our desire is to offer our patients legs without varicose veins, without compromising between innovation and ethics, in order to obtain the best clinical result and the greatest well-being.

Thus, guided by this philosophy for nearly 20 years, Dr. Paul Pittaluga’s team has turned traditional surgery upside down (hématomes, pain, general anesthesia or epidural, systematic sacrifice of the saphenous vein, hospitalization, frequent recurrences), and developed an original innovative technique called the ASVAL Method, which minimizes all these constraints (preservation of the saphenous vein, no hematoma, no general anesthesia, very short ambulatory treatment).

This method developed at the Riviera Vein Institute has been the subject of numerous clinical studies since 2004, and is now recognized at the highest scientific level worldwide for the quality of its results in the right indications.

  • Non-aggressive method.
  • Respectful of the venous capital.
  • No bleeding, no hematoma and no pain.
  • Local anesthesia limited to the segment of veins to be removed.
  • No hospitalization.
  • The minimally invasive nature of the ASVAL method ensures a very satisfactory functional and aesthetic result.

  • Possibility of returning to work quickly, the day after the procedure.

What if I decide?

You will meet Dr. Paul PITTALUGA from the Paris Vein Institute for an first consultation.

This first contact is often apprehended with anxiety by the patient, but at the same time very much awaited: because it is often the moment when the patient finally decides to treat his varicose veins. At the end of this first appointment, the surgeon should have calmed this possible anxiety.

He will start by asking you about your medical history, then he will evaluate your venous system very precisely by clinical and hemodynamic examination (Ultrasound-Duplex).

At the end of these examinations, Dr. Pittaluga will look at the data studied in order to propose the appropriate treatment for the particular stage of your venous insufficiency.

Dr. Pittaluga will then explain the venous disease, the different treatment options and which one is adapted to your particular case. The exchange with the surgeon will allow you to understand your problem and the proposed choice. A good understanding of your disease and the proposed solution is essential.

It is at the heart of the trust established between the doctor and the patient, which is essential in any medical treatment to obtain the best result.

All treatments offered by Dr. Pittaluga at the Paris Vein Institute, including the ASVAL Method, are performed under local anesthesia in a short outpatient setting, which allows for discharge only one hour after the procedure.

Immediately after the operation and in the days following the operation, it is advisable to walk intensively, one to two hours in the morning and in the afternoon. Physical activity is extremely beneficial, as it promotes venous circulation, avoids phlebitis, edema and hematoma. The more a patient walks, the less pain he will have pain and the faster they recover, contrary to popular belief and the practices often used practices that are often used.

Conversely, trampling (cooking, ironing, very static work, etc.) and long journeys while seated (airplane, car, etc.) should be avoided, as they encourage blood stagnation in the legs, often leading to pain and edema.

Very violent efforts are obviously to be avoided during the first week, but normal practice of many sports is allowed very early.
